The festival takes place at the Friendsville Community Park along the Youghiogheny River. It is always held the first Saturday in June.
The location is just a short drive from Deep Creek Lake making it easy for visitors to enjoy a fun-filled day with family. Also, dogs on a leash are welcome too!
This is an all day event that goes from 9:45AM until 5PM. You can attend rain or shine.

You can purchase tickets in advance from the Garrett County Celtic Festival website, but you can also pay at the gate. 2025 prices have not been announced, but we will keep you updated.
Schedule of events
The full schedule for the 2025 Garrett County Celtic Festival has not been finalized but here are some of the traditional events happening throughout the day:
The festival begins with an opening parade that starts at 9:45AM. Groups representing various Celtic clans fill the field. There are opening remarks along with a performance of the National Anthem.
Enjoy watching traditional Highland Games where athletes test their strength and endurance. Most are dressed in traditional Scottish kilts.


At noon, the green is filled once again with the procession of clans, dancers, and living history units.
Learn about Celtic history, music, and dance with presentations in tents that are scattered throughout the festival grounds. In addition to cultural programs, you can also attend Celtic arts workshops.
The main stage also features a variety of performers.
Craft stations with costumes, fairy gardens, face painting, contests, stories, and songs keep the kids entertained in The Rainbow’s End Children’s Area.
There are lots of food vendors with everything from barbecue to ice cream. After the Garrett County Celtic Festival, you can stop by the Friendsville Public House to grab a drink or a bite to eat!
